POACH PODS

By Sandra Gee on Jan 18, 09 10:19 AM

Its a long time since I found a kitchen gadget that I was really thrilled about..............until I discovered these POACH PODS. They come 2 in a pack, are made in silicone, and marvellous for poach eggs, little cakes, pates etc. etc.

For perfect poached eggs, oil the pod break in the egg and simply float the pod in simmering water in a pan, when it is cooked you just turn the pod inside out the egg comes out easily.

Much easier than the conventional poaching pan, the pods go in the dishwasher. They can also be used to freeze individual desserts and many other uses, so do have a go.

I have only seen them so far at FORMBY HARDWARE STORES where they stock a huge range of interesting products, so have a browse around.

I've lost count of the amount of times that I have used up only half of a bag of lettuce ,and thrown the remainder away because it had turned brown, so I was delighted to spot a new TWIN PACK of shredded iceberg lettuce.

This clever idea means that you have no waste, each bag contained enough for about 2 portions and are separately sealed.

A lovely dressing is to melt some redcurrant jelly, in the microwave of course, and mix it together with some White Balsamic & Raspberry dressing. Drizzled over some avocado slices and pink grapefruit segments makes a delicious starter.

TISSERAND AROMATHERAPY SETS

By Sandra Gee on Jan 4, 09 05:44 PM

Lavender is one of my favourite oils so I was delighted to receive a lovely set of Tisserand body Lotion and Hand wash, both with plunge dispensers which I much prefer. The lotion is deeply moisturising and the hand wash really soothing. I use them both liberally at bedtime as I believe Lavender encourages deep sleep.

Available at Boots.
