NANDO'S OCEAN PLAZA SOUTHPORT.

By Sandra Gee on Aug 31, 09 09:07 AM

On a really miserable Saturday there was a very warm welcome on entering Nando's restaurant. It was my first visit and the format was explained to me in detail.

The menu is so varied and the choice is yours whether to opt for medium, hot, or even extra hot spicy food.

I decided to err on the cautious and went for medium hot spice in the Prego Steak Roll that I ordered and it was delicious. But even more delicious was the side dish of Sweet Potato Mash which was real comfort food that lifted my spirits on the damp day.

The absolute highlight was a tiny tart which is the speciality of Portugal, crispy crispy pastry filled with sweet custart filling scrumptious.

It was a joy to visit the Southport Flower Show yesterday, the weather was perfect and the crowds all looked so happy and relaxed wandering around looking at the interesting exhibits, it seems to get better every year.

The highlight for me was the presentation by the fragrant Michele Martin whose business is Outside Influence Garden Design.

Her talk was about reducing stress by gardening and the facts that she produced were quite amazing. Apparently there is scientific evidence to show that stress is reduced by looking at a garden, and did you know that 30 mins in a garden is more valuable that in the gym, so I know which I'd prefer!!

Michelle had her own stress when the computer she was using to show slides died a death but she handled it so well and the audience were spellbound by her interesting information about stress in general.

PRIMARK JEWELLERY!

By Sandra Gee on Aug 22, 09 08:19 AM

I went on one of my occasional visits to Liverpool last weekend, the rain prevented me from really exploring Liverpool 1, I only got as far as buying a snack to eat on my return journey home from Pret a Manager. Ever heard of a "no bread sandwich" ..............no thought not, well it was delicious just a small container filled with crayfish and salad and a tub of dressing, yum!

However I did make it undercover to Primark and apart from their range of coats and jackets the jewellery was amazing. I couldn't resist a brooch designed in the shape of a flower in dull silver which has been pinned on every outfit I have worn this week, and has brought many compliments. Another little purchase was a string of pearls which are just "so in" at the moment.

CLINIQUE LIP SMOOTHIE

By Sandra Gee on Aug 13, 09 07:51 PM

I know very well that the best way to apply lipstick is with a lip brush but I have never quite mastered it successfully.

However I have had great success with Clinique's new vitamin c lip smoothie which is almost edible.

You simply twist the base of the stick and enough colour comes onto the brush to colour your lips with antioxident colour. There are a variety of about 10 colours to choose from, my favourite is "Goodness Grapecious" which is delicious!!
